Biblical Theology and Organizational Development
Christian organizations are formed not only by their strategies and structures, but by the spiritual assumptions that shape how leaders understand power, authority, and faithfulness. Organizational development is therefore never merely technical or procedural; it is inseparable from the ongoing formation and transformation of the people who lead and govern the organization. As leaders are shaped, so too are the cultures, practices, and outcomes of the organizations they serve.
These reflections consider how biblical theology informs leadership, governance, and organizational life, drawing attention to Jesus’ model of servant leadership and the Kingdom values that stand in contrast to domination, hierarchy, and control. Attention is given to the use and distribution of power, the role of shared authority, and the importance of aligning organizational practice with Kingdom purpose. Central to this exploration is the integration of spiritual discernment into strategy and planning—listening for God’s guidance, cooperating with the Holy Spirit, and shaping decisions in ways that reflect faithfulness rather than efficiency alone.
